I got a peek at the new seat when I was out in Redmond in October.  The slider rails are on the sides so the bottom of the seat is close to zero above the mounting surface.  They are nice, with reclining mechanisms.  I think they are tested to 26Gs.  They also slide out of the plane with very little effort, a real plus if you've ever struggled to get the bolts out of the standard seat bottoms.
