Well, I finally got the old bird back in the air after 18 months.

An engine out gear up landing Jun 2004. Now after much rework on the engine,
74 inch MT scimiter prop, a test flight and two hours of instruction from Mel
Hill; I am now insured and back in the saddle.

Attached are two pictures. One of Mel taxing the plane out to the runway and
the other starting the flight off the threshold of runway 01 Bremerton, WA.
Also Attached is an excel spreadsheet with some performance numbers.

Today I flew 2.6 hours and did speed, power and rpm runs over the airport at
3,500-4,500 and every 1,000 feet up to 11,500 feet.  The attached excel spread
sheet tells the story.  Also did some triangular GPS runs and it appears that
the TAS may be 3-6 knots slower than the GPS runs indicate.  Hmmmm.  More
testing needed.

Anyway fellas, take a look at this first raw data set, and give me some hints
on where to go from here.

I plan to add more runs to the table up to about 14,500 msl and see what
happens.

Overall it looks like I am running rich and or it is a thirsty engine.  More
power settings up to 29 inches and leaner runs etc. down lower might  reveal
faster speeds .

I suspect that I could cruise at same speeds as before and really save on
fuel with the increased powerplant and propeller efficiencies.

 Please give me your thoughts.
