It should be a Merry Christmas for me since on Friday I got my L4P back form being in someone's shop for the last 6 months. It finally runs fine with it's new engine and I had a G480 with remote Transponder installed and the latest updates to the Chelton Flight systems three screens, EAU, and AHRS. All work fine except the WSI which got a new Marine antenna installed in the tail and just doesn't want to work.
It is so much fun having it back and leaving Redmond Friday where it was 4* and fog in the morning and got up to 20* by 2 PM when it went VFR. So with new avionics and 3 hours on the engine I took off for San Jose, CA. the flight was one hour faster than going up there in a 210 and also the normal time in my A36.
The short story on the engine is that after it had a Lifter disintegrate and take out the cam and damaged all the oil hungary parts, TCM covered all the parts under warrantee. This made it a zero time engine. With all the fuel adjustments now corrected we are still experiencing a rise in EGT to 1580* when pulling the power back to climb power. We are now thinking that the ramp of the cam in the Throttle Body is incorrect from the specs. and have requested a replacement TB from TCM, if they agree.
Happy to be back,
Jim Hergert
