When I sew my door upholstery, I'll just make a matching strap and attach it to something solid. I'm not a grandma, and I can't knit, but I can sew. I made some straps for a light sport interior I did a few months ago. They looked like dog leashes, but they had nice top stitching and matched the interior. I used a #8 nutsert in the door frame and painted the screw head and washer to match the leather. I'll sew up a strap for anybody interested, but no matching booties or afghan!
