Are you using a 360?
My 320 has no supports on the exhaust system - however, the tail pipes are
clamped together with a SS band.
The attached pic is full size so you can see detail. The vertical pipe
behind the clamp is the crankcase vent - it is intended to drip on the lower
exhaust pipe.
