Wired up the whole gear. Checked it five times. Checked every
connection and every wire - perfect. Jacked up the plane and set up the
video camera. Went for the excitement of flipping on the master and then
the gear up switch - NOTTA.
Nothing happened. Not one sound, nothing. Talk about a let
down. Do you think it could be my first generation pressure
switches? Or someone told me about a SB with Bosche relays? I have
first generation relays. Can someone forward me that SB?
Thanks so much!
Matt,
Are the circuit breakers in (both relay and motor)?
When you switched on the master (with the gear switch in the down position)
did the pump run?
Do these tests in sequence.
In the gear down position:
Check that there is power to the switch - no, the relay breaker is out or
the power is wired incorrectly.
Check that there is power at the pressure switch - no, the panel switch is
bad.
Check that there is power at the relay coil connection - no, the pressure
switch thinks that the pressure is great enough and is open or the pressure
switch is wired wrong - i.e. the contacts are normally closed when there is no
pressure.
Check that the other side of the really coil is at ground - no, fix
it.
Check that there is power after the 50 A breaker - no, either there is no
power to the breaker, the breaker is out or the breaker is bad.
Check that there is power where the power line is connected to both up and
down relay power contactor posts - no, the wiring is bad.
Check that there is power on the motor side of the down relay
contactor - no, the relay is bad.
Check that the motor case is a ground - no, fix it.
The motor is broken.
Let us know the results.
