I'm looking for advice on IVP reciprocating engine alignment.  I'm told that
Lancair recommends 2 degrees right and 1 or 1.5 degrees down (two different
information sources).  I've also been told by an engineer friend that in a
high performance environment like this, the p-factor is a non-issue at
cruise, but that losses in efficiency of thrust at cruise due to
non-alignment to 0 degrees offset could cause a small negative result on
performance, so it would be best to accept additional rudder input on
takeoff and climb to get better results in cruise.  My motor mount and
engine setup looks to be providing about a .5 degree right offset while
alignment in horizontal plane is not yet established.

Anyone have thoughts on whether I should leave as is in the vertical,
setting the horizontal at zero as close as possible, or should I reset the
vertical plane to 2 degrees and horizontal to the 1.5 degree offset?
