I'd had my share of problems with WxWorx = and my GPS (all eventually resolved). The only real problem was the = screen - it wasn't sunlight readable. I can't comment on the LE1400 but I also have a Toshiba M200. My company has a lot of Toshiba's of various types. The M200 is = noticeably dimmer. I always thought this was because of the touch = screen. Is the LE1400 a touch screen also?
