Subject: tablets and WxWorx - update

I had been using a Toshiba M200 tablet in 320 for the past 18 months to deliver WxWorx information.  I'd had my share of problems with WxWorx and my GPS (all eventually resolved).  The only real problem was the screen - it wasn't sunlight readable.

A few weeks ago my tablet was stolen.  I ordered a new Motion Computing LE1600 computer and it arrived last Thursday - just in time for a trip to MA.  Here is my initial review:

1.  Small and lightweight
2.  Beautiful display - bright and clear
3.  Crashed enroute to Westchester airport about 45 minutes into it's first flight.  Felt hot to the touch and got a black screen indicating (BIOS?) failure.  Eventually got it to reboot, but then it wouldn't open WxWorx.
4.  Seemed relativel stable while on the ground, but on return flight I couldn't get it to recognize the GPS and it wouldn't resume after going into standby.  Had to reboot numerous times...

Has anyone had problems with the LE1400 and heat?  My computer was in direct sunlight... but my Toshiba never had any problem...

I'll post future results.

Matt
