So I contacted wxworx and they said:

 Good Afternoon,
 1.  This is a question to be answered by Garmin.  They have access to
our complete data stream, but display whatever their hardware will
 handle.
 2.  It is not legal for us to SELL in Canada, but it is not illegal to
use a XM receiver.  We will have Canadian radar as soon as XM and the
Canadian government reach an agreement.  Thank you for your interest.

And I talked to Tom Rodgers (Avionics West) and he said:

 Hi,

If you haven't read my article http://avionicswest.com/articles/wsi.htm
about WSI on the MX20, You are correct, winds aloft can not be
shown on the MX20 at this time with
WSI or GDL69.  In fact, if you look at both systems it appears you get more
features today using WSI.  TFR, the boxes around Sigmets/Airmets and some of
the other nice features make the WSI the winner in my opinion.  Sure, Garmin
is going to down play WSI and promote their 69 box and maybe over time the 69
will end up the winner but I don't believe that's the case today.  From what I
could find out, WXWORX does not have Canadian nexrad and if that's an issue,
you might want to look elsewhere. I still feel today WSI on the MX20 is still
the best thing going.

 Cheers,
 tom

[ the boxes with arrows are winds aloft at the currently
displayed FL030 in http://d2av.com/screen/wxopt.gif on CFS
with WSI. Also note the cell movment and tops with the large
white circle and the small circles are echo tops.

are WSI pricing options.  -Rob ]
