He flew the airplane!!!!  Beautiful!!!!!!!!  I got goose bumps reading the last line of the post, too.  He will probably not think it, but Randy is a hero.  Another plane can be built, another human life/spirit cannot.

I do have a question, there is no mention of throwing on the boost pump...do we know if he did?

I'm not veryhopeful that the Chelton data can be recovered, I'm betting it got pretty hot in the fire...again, it's all secondary to the fact that both people came away in good shape.

Also, do you know what kind of restraint system was used in the aircraft?

It is very good to know about the structural integrity of the airframe after the crash.  The Legacy has proven to be very good at protecting occupants during off site landings....

Which brings up another point.  WIth the landing gear being so short on these airplanes, I cannot think of any situation outside of perhaps a corn field, where I wouldn't want the gear out to help dissipate energy.

I'm not an expert here gang, just throwing out food for thought and discussion.
