Lancair 4-Seat Owners,

 

I talked to Tim Ong and Robert Williams at SNF about the new seats that are in development.

 

They are completely new, with new rails, Kevlar seat pans, 4 position reclining mechanisms, custom designed EAR Confor Foam cushions.  They will be available for purchase to kit owners, or as an upgrade to new kit buyers.  Pricing still isn't finalized, but Tim thought a seat with the foam with be around $1,250 un-upholstered.  They are looking at offering upholstered options, no word on the price of that, but I bet it will depend on what material the buyer selects.

 

The initial production run will be 100 seats and is scheduled to begin after Amsafe completes the testing.  The seats are designed to handle 26 Gs.
