<<Here's a suggestion for simplifying the Legacy speed brake installation:  glass over the pockets for them and fuggedaboudem.  Before starting N121J, I noted that the factory demo plane doesn't have speed brakes, and in 70 or 80 hours of flying mine, I never missed them.  Keep it simple, right?  And put the $4K or so into something useful, or another cool toy for your panel.>>

I have them on mine.  No question you don't need them.  Then, you don't need the whole airplane.  It's a toy and is it ever fun!  One of the funner things is to come into the break patterne at 240K, pull the power back, brakes out, 60 degree bank and 15 seconds later you're flared out for landing.  Another time they are useful is when you call in to the tower at 10 miles out, 200 indicated and are told: "You're #2 following the cessna a mile ahead."  Most tower operators still don't have a clue.  The panel stuff is neat too but no matter what you put in the panel, the airplane flies just the same.  It's cheaper to play computer games on the ground.
