Gang,
I was there in Salina
today and got to watch the whole thing with my 5 year old son. We flew my
Lancair 320 from Fort Collins,
CO (FNL), to SLN and were the last airplane that got to land before the airport
was shut down. This little Lancair of mine has only been flying for 1 1/2
years and it has provided for so many great memories for me and my
family. It was worth every minute of building during the 6 years and now
is an absolute joy.
The festivities in Salina
were fantastic. The locals were incredibly friendly – they even had
big trucks set up serving free pizza, ice cream bars and bottled water. I
saw one Lancair Columbia 350 but no other Lancairs :( Oh well, I guess I
wasn’t there to see Lancairs, anyway :)
A hearty congratulations to Steve Fossett and team!!!
