I talked to Steve for about 45 minutes today. He was in the block FL450B470
until they started a descent at about Alamosa, CO. Just FYI, the ground speed
was between 215 and 240Kts. Was pretty cool. It was amazing how many
airplanes on frequency wanted to know where the Global Flyer was, all morning.
It was also pretty interesting, I watched a Citation X (C750) intercept him
out there about the grand canyon. I suppose they got some pictures or
something, but obviously didn't stay with him. The Global Flyer's call sign
was VIR101. Virgin 101. Another chase plane joined up with him in Eastern
Colorado for the rest of the flight into Salina, KS.

-he was IFR and canceled once he had the airport in sight. It was
awesome to watch. They had trouble getting the nose gear to go green
and some hydraulic fluid was leaking from one of the main wheel wells.
