<<Regarding the Teflon "sleeve" hinge pin issue, I offer another
opinion.>>

And here is yet another option...Reamed hinges with close tolerance
pins.
I have been through a number of hinge iterations over the years:
Standard MS hinge and pin.  Teflon sleeved pins on new and old MS hinge
and finally reamed hinges with close fitting SS pins.
Standard MS hinges and pin have lots of play and wear quickly.
Teflon lined pins stop/slow down wear but still have play. An exception
would be the highly loaded flap hinges were the Teflon sleeve was being
sheared by the hinge segments.
About two years ago I started switching out all hinges with new reamed
hinges and SS pins with a nominal clearance of 0.00175". The pin is
3/32" , 0.09375 welding rod and the MS hinge material is reamed to
0.0955".   There is still no perceptible play in the hinges.
