My actuator rod never quite comes back inside
the cockpit and I have left it in place. I may have the
cylinder too far out from the centre line. I
take it by "skin" you mean the web through which it passes.
I am accumulating the material to make a new door
which will fit over the Outback Gear, with a good clearance. I have also
ordered a rod end with a 3/16" thread and some stainless steel hinge. If
brute force and ignorance will fix it I should have it fixed!
Is it the right door that you have problems
with?
It seems to me that the actuator can move downwards
when the door is open and that allows the door to fold back from the vertical
position. Using a hose clamp I fastened a spacer under the cylinder so
that it contacted the belly pan when the door was open but the problem
persists.
The left door has never given a problem.
However I would rather fly without the inner door than risk a gear hang up if
the door comes loose and jams itself in the wrong place.
A note to Scott, I have the hole masked off so i do
not get a cold bot!
