At the risk of sounding ungrateful to Lancair, the Mike Custard A/C install can be duplicated by acquiring an underdash add-on A/C unit for an old car. You will have to figure out hose lengths and get a local hose complany to swage on the fittings. Mount the unit high about the rear seat. Stick the condenser (from JC Whitney) in the back. Make sure it has a fan, and build a fiberglass shroud if needed. A drier can be stuck anywhere.

The engineering is no big deal. Locate the big pieces, then make your mountings. For the drip drain, take a piece of 1/4" aluminum tubing thru the pressure vessel into the wheel well. Crush the end and drill it out to about 60 thousandths. That's the end.

Marv and I figured all this out installing our Custard AC. Yes, it was nice to have some of those parts pre-aggregated. But it shouldn't be a large job.

Subject: [LML] AC Condenser

Hi

I'm looking for a ac condenser for a IV-P. Also any other parts that can be used to install air in a IV-P.  I have the compressor, and mounting bracket.

Thanks

Mark
