I do have fixed anchor nuts on the bottom cowl. Hopefully, I will nut run
into the same problem that you had.

One of the two prior kit owners of my 360 originally installed floating
nutplates for the cowl fasteners (I have carbhinge for the sides).  Given
how long the cowling is, floating nutplates can allow a wide range of
positions for the cowl.  I had many problems with the cowl rubbing on the
engine (mine is quited tightly cowled) until I replaced all the floating
nutplates with fixed.  The rubbing has never resurfaced.  I am now on a
mission to replace all floating nutplates on my 360 with fixed.
