Jeff has a great point.  Using solvent can reduce the bond strength if it does allow the spread of contaminates to the adherend. BUT, if not cleaned, dust will remain as a contaminate between the two surfaces.  Check the Hysol/Loctite website re. surface prep for bonding.  Many times we blame an adhesive for poor bonds when in fact, it is the surface prep.
