Our paint job is right at a year old and as you would expect
has several leading edge (wings and horizontal stabilizer) “dings”
that have chipped the paint. Rather than using touch up paint (our first
thought) to be applied with a brush, we decided to go the “right way”
albeit the expensive way, and put in into the same paint shop that did the job
in the first place. As would be expected it now looks like the day it did
when it was first painted.
What we would like to do is to take some precautionary
measures this time around. Is it a good idea to put some sort of leading
edge protective tape on the wings and horizontal stabilizer? Is it
unsightly? Is there any detrimental effect on speed? Can someone please point
me in a direction of where we might source such a product?
Any and all suggestions/recommendations will be most
welcome.
