Have you thought of installing a standard ground power receptacle instead of a dedicated battery charge unit? I installed mine up inside the nose gear doors, then made up a 15 ft length of very flexible welding cables terminated in battery clamps. I also added a relay which uses the master switch in the aircraft to activate. This way I keep an auto battery (with charger connected) connected to the plane for all my ground/hanger work, and when I'm traveling, it gives me dead battery insurance.
