For Doug Waddingham:

Have you thought of installing a standard  ground power receptacle instead of a dedicated battery charge unit?  I installed mine up inside the nose gear doors, then made up a 15 ft length of very flexible welding cables terminated in battery clamps.  I also added a relay which uses the master switch in the aircraft to activate.  This way I keep an auto battery (with charger connected)  connected to the plane for all my ground/hanger work, and when I'm traveling,  it gives me dead battery insurance.

I'm interested if anyone has wired a recepticle into their panel (or anywhere else) to allow for a quick and easy connection to a battery minder -> --
