I have spent considerable time thinking about how to = transition with a flexible connection from the plennum openings to the openenings = on the lower cowl. For the guys with round holes and ducts it is an easy problem to solve. = My openings are rounded rectangles like the openings on the 235 cowl. I recently rented = the new DiamondStar DA 40. (4 place Katana) They have used a very cool neoprene seal on their set up. It is a = neoprene seal that appears to fit on the forward edge of their cowl and has a flange that goes back toward the = engine. This material could be used for any shape duct and is very soft and = flexible. It essentially connects to hard ducts together leaving a flexible joint. I am trying to locate a source for the part or possibly a mfg. If anyone knows where this material can be obtained please let me know. I will continue to research it and post pictures if possible.
