I am aware of five Fadec installation on Lancairs.
1) a retrofit on the Lancair factory IV located at TCM. This airplane had a
lightning strike and continued to be flyable with no effects on the FADEC.
2) Jack Hickham's IV-P. Unfortunately, Jack became ill and had to sell his
airplane shortly after flight testing at TCM.
3) Bob Fair's Legacy. Bob sold his airplane and it is my understanding that
the purchaser is turning it into a mag driven engine.
4) Jabe Luttrell's Legacy. Jabe works with Aerosance and is building a
beautiful Legacy with Fadec and an Aerocomposites prop. Jabe is still
building.
4) My IV-P with an Aerocomposites prop. It is planned for flight testing
next month. There continues to be a problem with rough idling on TSIOF 550's
with low inertia props. This has yet to be resolved.
To my knowledge, the only performance tests numbers are what TCM or Aerosance
can provide on the factory IV or Jack Hickham's airplane. Hopefully, I will
be able to provide some information soon.
