this is the hope.  we have bought from lancair the tks system and have
smoothly(brian alley) installed the system on the horizontal stabs and
wings with a beautiful fairing in job by our bodyman jim snyder. with
the smooth transition it is our hope that speed will not significantly
be affected.  wings and stabs are in primer.  we still have not received
the promised slinger ring for the prop from lancair(hint, hint tim/joe)
which would make this airframe/windshield deice/antiice concept
possible. however to put a plug in for the lancair companies- overall
support has been unwaivering.  i wouldn't buy any significant component
 from anywhere else.

I have heard the same thoughts but I can't point you to any hard
 data.  It
might also keep your cooling air inlets from freezing (something I
 have seen
on a Mooney).  Talk to Tim.  Lancair is also taking names of people
interested in the TKS system for ES's.
