Hi group,

  1. I’d like to apply some type of finish to the gear legs of my IV.  I haven’t protected them during the building process.  I know chroming is not possible due to the heat, etc.  (Although I have an article in an old Lancair newsletter that shows a IV with some type of special –low heat - chroming applied to the gear legs.  I’ve seen powder coating that look very good.  Tom Zekaker powder coated his gear legs and then used some stainless steel or polished aluminum protectors where the legs meet the sliders.  Very nice solution.

Does anyone have a suggestion, source or spec. for a gear leg finish material?

  1. I’m looking for a combination (if it exists) 12V / 24V power source / battery charger to test the electrical system and later use as a battery charger.  I was asked by a supplier what Amp’s I need.  Can anyone answer that question?

Thanks in advance,

Joe Trepicone
