FWIW .....

Something I used to do in my Seneca III when I needed to keep it in the CG
envelope with heavy  stuff in the rear was to put plastic jugs with water in the
nose baggage compartment. Great ballast, when you need it fill the jugs, when
you don't just pour it out. Better than sand bags but perhaps a bit more bulky.
