Guys,
It's official. The race chairman has
said "the more the merrier". Race details are below. Kim and I will
be committed on Friday evening until about 10:00 pm. Thus, a Saturday am
arrival is preferred. Plan to be on the ground by 9:00 am.
Bedding for Saturday night for 3 and floor
space for 15 available, please RSVP if you'd like to sleep over.
My hangar is on the North East corner of the
field. Just park in the tire tie downs (north end) Saturday morning and
we'll hangar as many as possible Saturday night.
Remember this is a timed event. We'll
be sure and make up a class for every airplane so you can tell your friends how
great you did when you get home!
If you're a "maybe" we'd appreciate an
RSVP. This way Kim will know how much shrimp to buy. If you just
show up you will not be turned away. Hope many of you will come to cheer
Mark on!

Just a note to remind you that Gathering II is just a week away. Some of
you are still at or have just returned from SnF and may not want to look at your
planes for a while BUT, by next Saturday you'll be
straining to go fast again!!
I saw Don last night, he reported that he was fifth behind the Hammer
Brothers, Larry Henney and Dick, who won the Sun 100. For those of you who
missed Gathering I, it was a lot of fun so plan on II. Included below is a
reprint of a few reminders from last time. Also note that there is a 99's
sponsored pancake breakfast Saturday at Granbury airport and to complement
that we moved our breifing time up to 10:00 am. If you can, go eat
pancakes but be here by 10:00. Also If you have a responsible friend
whose airplane is capable of a minimum of 150 mph, invite them.
"Zoom-Zoom"
Damon and Don
The gathering is but a few days away and here are some reminders:
* Let me know if you’re coming. Saturday morning additions/subtractions are
no problem but RSVP’s help with the planning.
* If you are coming, give me your call sign; Pilgrim, Yellow Bird, etc. If
you are creatively challenged, we’ll use your last name or the squadron
commander (Don) will assign you one inspired by your talents/name/physical
peculiarities.(Don’t risk this one!)
* We’ll have the briefing under the canopy at the North end of the runway,
temps permitting. Dons hangar if not.
* Park at the North end.
* Wx reports, photos, takeoff order, etc. will be posted about 0900. Briefing
(fliers gotta be there) at 10:00.
* Have the courses already loaded in your GPS before the brief.
* Be ready to fly right after briefing.
* No gas at Pecan.
* Bring $ for lunch and days end beer and soda.
* Morning contact # 817 578-4909 in case of problems or questionable wx.
