I looked at a diagram of the Matco master cylinder with the reservoir. There is no seal where the shaft goes through the top cover so I think that is how the reservoir is vented. You can probably get by pumping flluid in from the bleeder fitting on the wheel.

There is a small (3/16 I'm guessing) threaded cap on the top of each
reservoir which is removable with a slot screwdriver. I don't remember that
it is vented so I think it has to be removed to fill from the brake bleed
nipple. I initially filled the reservoir from the brake bleed nipple but to
check and top the reservoir it seemed prudent to do it at the pedals. It
also seemed like a good idea to look around in that area. But since your
header is not removable the problem is a bit different, not easier.
