Anyone had any experience of this in a IVP?
Last week we noticed a series of fine cracks emanating outwards from the edge
of the main windscreen...one series from top left corner (looking from pilots
seat) and the other from the lower left side.  Both series were adjacent
(well, close to) door attach points.  Hard to tell yet, but they appear to
penetrate maybe 1/10 of screen thickness.
Have discussed with Lancair... ³no, never seen or heard of it²
History is that nothing was noticed until immediately after giving the
aircraft a wash down last week.
Not suggesting it is related to the wash down, but as we always closely
inspect the aircraft, they must have appeared suddenly.
Have removed some interior lining and it appears that they travel back under
the lamination.
We have around 200 hours on the aircraft.  Has never been subjected to
anything outside of the normal and predictable envelope.
We are presently removing the windscreen and hoping to keep it intact enough
to inspect the edges. If we can, will post shots on LML for further comment.
Will be installing another and it is on itıs way now.
Very interested to hear from anyone who has had any experience of this or
views as to what might be going on
