Peter:

My hydraulic pump is located in a space we created behind the pilot's seatback.  My ELT is next to it and both batteries are in the same location behind the passenger's seat.  My AHRS is behind the baggage bulkhead.  I have an IO-550 and the Hartzell 3-blade.  My CG is toward the front of the envelope (although inside the envelope) with one light pilot and no fuel.  As a result, the CG stays nicely ahead of the aft edge of the envelope through all the loading examples I ran.  I don't have paint yet, which I expect to bring the CG aft somewhat.

has anyone experimented with placing the hydraulic pump up front instead
of on the rear bulkhead?  would that improve the weight/balance?
