Silvio,
   I did pretty much what you did but made a sheet metal mold. I extended the weight forward to benefit from the longer lever action (moment arm)but still it seemed heavy. If I had it to do over again, I would not have put the strobe/tail light assembly in the trailing edge. It definitely ended up weighing more to counter weight it.
