This may sound
really silly but if you were going to do this kind of work on a non metal
airplane wouldn't it be prudent to drain the fuel and leave the caps off to
vent out the fumes.
This would leave
nothing that will burn/explode.
I would not have
given it a thought if I had not heard of this incident
My airplane will
have neither fuel or fuel vapors in the tanks after hearing about this incident
when it is time to paint.
I am happy no one
was hurt.
Just a
thought...
