I'm wrong about getting an STC on an experimental
aircraft. Ron called me this AM and his airplane, a 320, has a one time
STC for the auto racing oil filter system discussed here. It was
issued by the Seattle FAA for his aircraft by its serial number.
Surprisingly, it is not for the engine but the whole aircraft. I'm
surprised but then again not. The FAA will never cease to amaze me with
their arcane rules and proceedures. Gee, and I thought I knew
everything. What a disapointment!
