Steve,

I made an aluminum flap to replace a portion of the rear flat part of the ES nose gear fairing.  Hinged it to the fiberglass fairing and mounted a Mac 8A servo motor to the cross tube of the engine mount.  Connected the motor to the flap with a clevis linkage and set the travel to shut off when the flap closed.  It works pretty well with the on-off-on switch.  I have timed it for full travel and can set it by the clock to whatever opening I need for the conditions.  Not a big project.  I am attaching some photos.  Hope they help.

How did you make the electric flap.  I need to make some cowl exit space
myself ( I have none except for a shark gill on the side and a couple on the
bottom).  I'd like to make one under the rear of the cowl that would move up
and down.  If I get my exit area straightened out I think my oil temps will be
great.
