I'm finishing off the cockpit of my LNC 360. Right now I'm trying to fit the Lancair optional dust shield to the instrument panel. If any of you have fitted the dust shield to the Lancair supplied instrument panel can you tell me how you did it? There is no mention of dust shield installation in my set of instructions. Did you attach the dust shield to the top of the instrument panel and to the forward deck? If so how did you attach it (nutplates & screws)? Did you have to cut the dust shield to make it conform to the top of the instrument panel? Right now my shield juts up a little higher than I'd like for forward visibility and doesn't nicely wrap over (mate to) the top of the instrument panel. I've trimmed the sides near the canopy rails and the fit is satisfactory there. Any knowledge/experience help would be appreciated.
