People are speaking of this as a terribly fearful thing. Perhaps in the Air Force it is. However, as a Naval Aviator it was commonplace to practice HAPL's and LAPL's (Hi and Lo altitude Power loss) and they were not to be feared." "Not trying to throw a big flamer here." Are you sure about that???? That little part in the middle wasn't really necessary was it? As a current "Naval Aviator" (and a former Aid Force pilot as well) and one who's instructed over 3000 hours to Navy, Air Force, USCG, Marine and foreign military pilots, I can tell you that no service has it over the others....Actually, truth be told, I usually look forward to flying with some of the foreign pilots the most. The Norwegian pilots are especially fun to fly with as their skills are almost always top notch. The USMC pilots are also a good bunch to fly with as they are ALWAYS prepared for their flights! But in the end, we're all professional pilots and are thankful that we get paid to do a job we love while serving our country.... So let's give the Service rivalry thing a rest, shall we?? - Brian Shannon Glasair SII-S RG (yup...not even building a Lancair!
