Bill -
Did a lot of practicing at Wheelus AB, Tripoli. That was about the only place we could get that had weather that would permit 12,000 AGL!!! We finally came up with a procedure at Bitburg for carrying 215 kcas on a GCA final if we had engine problems, and if it quit, you haul back on the stick and pull the handles. Thank God nobody had to do that one either.
Cheers,
John

The F-105 flame-out high key was 12,000 AGL at 225KCAS (plus gas, etc.). Glad I never had to do it (really glad!).
