Hi,

A Canadian friend and fellow Air Venture Cup Air Racer, Ernie Chauvin, has permitted me to forward his offer to host a race.  If you are interested please shoot Ernie an email at echauvin5@cogeco.ca.  Just think, the Winner could perhaps now be able to claim fastest LNC2 in all of North America.  I guess I'll be going :)

"We have been considering for some time returning the hospitality offered by those groups and that of the EAA AIRVENTURE  group by hosting an "air rallye" similar to the Dogwood Races. We're based at CYQG-Windsor, Ontario,Canada. We're 2 miles from KDET, Detroit City airport, but obviously on the Canadian side. We have a relatively large facility here with relatively little traffic. Customs is required, but we have them on the field here, and for going back, Detroit City is very convenient. There is much to offer visitors here in the way of entertainment, i.e. Windsor Casino, a fantastic waterfront area facing downtown Detroit, great shopping for anyone less interested in aviation, and some environmentally unique lands..i.e. Point Pelee National Park.the one Carolinian forest in Canada. A good advantage is the difference on the money..currently at 1.35 in favour of the U.S. dollar. If there is sufficient interest in this offer, we will get things rolling..a May weekend or late September would be considered. An 80 to 100 nm.course is being considered. A multitude of other attractions would help make this a good get-away weekend in a foreign land. Appreciate any response.  Ernie Chauvin..Lancair 360..Race 35  "Shadow".
