The pilot in this accident was seriously injured and his passenger died within the week.
There is an uncharted 1,000 ft airport on an island near downtown Knoxville. About a year ago a fellow from down there ask about buying a Lancair 320 and keeping it at that airport. I and several other list members recommended against using an airport that short for a Lancair.
The crash occurred on a road that runs right past that small airport. I think that fellow didn't take our advise.
