The one on my kit and that which I purchased from a salvaged aircraft seem to be identical, to my best recollection. I'll let you know for sure when I get them back as they are both enroute back to me from Lancair. I was told that only the initial 2 or 3 kits were sold with the "short" strut. My kit is #148. It has the current strut configuration. The spare strut is the same so I'm not sure how you know/assume that it's the short version. Curious and confused. BTW- the reason I sent them to Lancair for service was to get the new one upgraded with the centering cam and new seal mod. The spare already has the centering cam and it was serviced to add the seal mod. Like I said, you're welcome to the stuff I have if you're willing to pick it up to try/check. Another thing you can do is come down and compare the stuff that I'm selling with what's on my project airplane. Hope things go your way whatever you decide.
