I don't have stats to back me up, but I'll offer something for you to consider anyway.
For the same reason that white protects your glass airplane better (reflectivity vs. absorbsion) it makes your airplane much easier to see from any distance -- thus, maybe reducing midair collision potential. Red turns to black at any distance and is much harder to see.

I heard that someone at the Lancair fly-in was taking skin temperature
readings on different colored airplanes.
Does anyone know who did this? or have the data?
