For some unknown reason, I managed to cut the aft elevator pushrod 1" too short...dumb. So now with a new pushrod properly fitted, the idler arm bob weight sits at 1/4" above the pushrod as per the plans (I actually looked at them) at full down elevator and the binding experienced earlier has vanished! :-)
