with construction adhesive on Lancair aircraft as opposed to
rivets. Can

Giff,
I suspect you are talking about the "Click Bond" method of
attaching the nutplates. Lancair used quite a few of them on my IV-P kit -
especially on the firewall. There are many different versions to choose
from. Work pretty good in some applications, but the method mentioned by
Marv is probably a better installation - more surface for the adhesive to hold
to.
