Although I haven't called Don yet, I am still curious if I should really swap it out. The main reason is this - It is coming back from the engine shop this week after a complete overhaul and I'm wondering if it's really worth it. Right when the engine went into the shop, I tried to contact Tom Byrnes (I had read on the list that he has a 235 with a 290-D2 with 9:1 compression) to get some details from him about it, but he never responded. So now I'm stuck with a "brand new" motor that might still give me some problems since the engine shop kept everything stock. Brock Brinkerhoff 290DM
