No, that part works fine, the EAU comes on immediately.  I just got the impression from Brent that the CFS IDU’s don’t need to be behind an AV Master (due to their meeting DO160), but that’s not what I was told when I bought them by LA and the rep at CFS I spoke with.  I’d love to get rid of the AV master, as I don’t like its added failure modes (though the convenience is nice), but I didn’t think it was an option.  What Brent said led me to believe it is?

(from Shannon Knoepflein) Since when does CFS recommend that I can have my experimental IDU on
when cranking?

Shannon, your Engine Airdata Computer should power on immediately with your battery master.  And you should be able to monitor your engine "while cranking" and have indications such as oil pressure immediately.  If this isn't the case, it is improperly wired and you need to contact Lancair.
