Some hairline cracks have developed as shown by the top edge of the yellow tape in the pictures. This is a 1989 small tail with 1280 hours.
My best guess is they are caused by use of full rudder slips in the traffic pattern causing twisting of the tail. Lancair has beefed up this area on later models and has made suggestions as to how to make a fix.
You guys take a look at your planes, be careful using the rudder as a speed brake and keep an eye out for a really small person to do the work if you need it.
