WOW, what an excellent bunch of = suggestions…guess we have all been considering this factor.

The automotive aftermarket window hammer that Rob = placed a link to has a serious drawback in my book.  It was designed for = automotive glass, hence has no cutting edge on the tool with which we could cut our = way through the Plexiglas.  Automotive windows are much easier to work = your way through after a hammer type blow than Plexiglas.  My baggage compartment window was broken, and I tested the ability to = “remove” the rest of the glass….very hard job without some sort of helping = tool. Same thoughts apply to shooting through the Plexiglas = initially.

I see two factors that we must consider….1) = some type of striking tool to create the initial breaking force, and 2) a sawing = tool to complete the opening.  I like the opening Legacy window, and will definitely install one, but I still want to be prepared. =

I will be in Bend next = week, and will visit with the Lancair Columbia folks, specifically their parts = supply, and look over the axe and see if they would entertain a = “group” order, then report back after I return in a week or = so.
