avoid ice... sort of like that merine layer thing.. but boy,
the lancair's climb performance is much better than the tiger
so getting out of ice is alot easier..

in the L4 one could always find ice.. ~18k or so, so
the trick is to avoid visible moisture, but often times
that's impossible...
