The bronze ball valve supplied with the kit is only rated at 150PSI working
pressure. although I have no personal knowledge of any of these failing, I
decided that I would install a hydraulic dump valve which was rated for the
pressure.
I happened to have a stainless steel, metal seat, plug-type valve laying
around here which was rated at 10,000 psi, so I put that in instead.
I have not tested the installation in use, since I am still a month away
from the first flight.

[Another builder recently advised me of a dump valve failure which caused
him fits with his hydraulic system for quite awhile. I understand the
present kit-supplied valves are rated at 600psi, still not enough to
adequately do the job (IMHO) considering up-pressure is 1200. I'll be
using a 3000psi-rated hydraulic valve in my system, just to be sure.
